Optio Incorporated ("Optio," "us," "we," or "our") operates the Optio platform at app.getopt.io/app and the website at www.getopt.io (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and disclose information when you use our Service.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of a retail store or business, you represent that you have the authority to bind that business to this policy.
We understand that your store's data is the lifeblood of your business. We want to be unambiguous about how we treat it:
Account Information. When you register for the Service, we collect your name, email address, phone number, store name, and billing information necessary to maintain your account.
Store Data. Through integrations with your point-of-sale (POS) system and other retail platforms, we collect product catalog data, inventory levels, sales transactions, purchase orders, and related operational data ("Store Data"). This data is collected solely to provide the inventory management, buying optimization, and reporting features of our Service.
Customer Data. Through your POS integration, the Service may process information about your retail customers, including names, phone numbers, email addresses, and mailing addresses ("Customer Data"). This data is used solely to power reporting and features within your Optio account. We do not share, sell, or disclose Customer Data to any third party under any circumstances — including in any opt-in data-sharing arrangement. Customer Data is never made available to brands, vendors, or any outside party. We do not collect, store, or have access to your customers' payment card information.
Log Data. When you access our Service, we automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, time and date of access, and time spent on pages.
Cookies. We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and improve the Service. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but doing so may limit your ability to use certain features.
Account Information is used to operate and manage your account, process payments, provide customer support, and communicate with you about the Service (including important updates and, where you have opted in, occasional product announcements).
Store Data is used to deliver the features of the Service you have subscribed to — including inventory tracking, stock-level analysis, buying optimization, reporting, and related tools. We may use aggregated, fully anonymized, and non-identifiable statistical data (such as industry-wide trend averages) to improve our Service, but only in a form that cannot be traced back to any individual store or business.
Customer Data is used exclusively within your Optio account to provide reporting and operational features. It is never used for any purpose outside of delivering the Service to you, and is never shared externally.
Log Data is used for security monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving the performance of the Service.
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your data with any third party except in the following limited circumstances:
Customer Data is never shared. To be absolutely clear: your retail customers' personal information — names, phone numbers, email addresses, and mailing addresses — is never disclosed to any third party under any circumstances, regardless of any other data-sharing arrangements you may participate in.
We take the security of your data seriously. Your data is hosted on secured cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Access to customer data is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis. We conduct regular reviews of our security practices and infrastructure.
That said, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your Store Data and Customer Data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you cancel your subscription, you may request that we export or delete your data. Upon a verified deletion request, we will remove your data from our active systems within 90 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes.
You have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.
The Service may integrate with third-party platforms (such as your POS system, Shopify, Amazon, or other tools) at your direction. When you enable these integrations, data flows between the Service and those platforms are governed by both this Privacy Policy and the privacy policies of those third parties. We encourage you to review their policies as well.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes — particularly to how we handle Store Data or Customer Data — we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice within the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, please contact us at:
